About This Journey
A short Athens break built around one thorough sightseeing day and one free day. The touring day covers the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, and Syntagma before climbing the Acropolis for the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, finishing at the New Acropolis Museum.
The free day can stay open or convert into a full-day cruise to the Saronic Gulf islands of Hydra, Poros, and Aegina. Four-star accommodation, daily breakfast, and airport transfers are included.
Day by Day
Athens arrival
Arrive at Athens airport and transfer to your hotel. The evening is free to explore the city at your own pace.
Athens and the Acropolis
Guided city tour with a stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, home of the first modern Olympics, passing the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament, and Syntagma Square. Climb the Acropolis for the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, then visit the New Acropolis Museum.
Athens free day
A full open day, or add the optional full-day cruise to the Saronic Gulf islands: Hydra with its stone mansions and narrow lanes, the small strait town of Poros, and Aegina, the largest of the three.
Athens departure
Breakfast and checkout, then a transfer to Athens airport for your homebound flight.
